Found this write up here about all the places ypu can go online and find your favorite salad and dressing recipes.
http://salad.allrecipes.com - It’s always fun to revisit the AllRecipes site. They do so many creative dishes to keep things from ever getting boring. Be sure to check out the dessert salads.
www.cooksrecipes.com/category/salad.html - Although the salads are wonderful at the Cooks Recipes site, my favorite part of the salads section are the 65 dressing recipes. Some of the traditional choices are included, but most are unique. You might find a signature selection here - you know, something the whole family will ask for whenever you get together.
www.recipegal.com/salad - I don’t believe I’ve ever mentioned Recipe Gal in the column, but it’s certainly worth including. There are some very good traditional choices and a few creative ones like French Fry Salad, Cherry Coke Salad and one that combines strawberries and begonias that is beautiful as well as tasty (even though I’m allergic to strawberries and can’t indulge).
www.webterrace.com/salads/recipes.htm - Even though the bobbing banner head and side ads will drive you nuts, ignore them and concentrate on the recipes. Their corn salad is simple but delicious and the BLT salad with basil mayo dressing is a sure summer hit.
www.recipeamerica.com - The Recipe America site has some of the best picnic and pasta salad dishes in the world, but I was not able to access them for this column due to “database upgrading.” Hopefully you’ll have better luck.
www.donogh.com/cooking/salads.shtml - I don’t know which I like better from this Canadian site, the recipes or the great retro art and design. Actually, my favorite is their version of chicken salad, which is excellent. (And believe me, I love chicken salad.)
www.fatfree.com/recipes/grain-salads - These are listed as “grain salads” but they can also serve as superb sides or even main course vegetarian meals. The Malaysian salad (my favorite from this site so far) is colorful and filled with unique flavors and textures.
http://whatscookingamerica.net/Salads.htm - I haven’t had a chance to try anything from this site but if the recipes taste as good as they sound, I know I’m going to be including some of these recipes in my own “favorites” cookbook. The pear and parmesan with poppy seed dressing and the mango salad with grilled shrimp are on my “must make soon” list.
www.1worldrecipes.com/category.asp?c=12 - If you’re looking for something truly out of the ordinary, the 1 World site offers the best choices from around the globe. Although they feature a lot of spicy choices, there are some that are sure to please even the pickiest eaters.
www.razzledazzlerecipes.com - This is another well designed and nicely decorated site filled with amazing dishes for all occasions. Click on the “Fourth of July” section for dozens of red, white and blue options as well as picnic and cookout suggestions.
www.kraftfoods.com - Kraft has long been a leader in innovative and healthy recipes. Their site is outstanding and offers not only dishes your family will love, but also great ideas for casual get-togethers and summer cookouts. The current focus is on grilling tips and summer entertaining ideas
